From 1991 to 1995, he pursued plastic surgery training in Berlin, Germany, at the Detlev Witzel Institute for Reconstructive Plastic Surgery, recognized as the top residency program for plastic and cosmetic surgery in the country. Additionally, he served as the Senior Surgical Coordinator at the institute.
After five years of training in Germany, Dr. Rubin relocated to California, USA, where he completed his residency from 1995 to 2001 under the prominent plastic surgery faculty at the University of Southern California and Dr. Steven Hofflin at the Institute of Plastic Surgery and UCLA's Department of Plastic Surgery.
Between 2001 and 2004, Alexey Rubin completed a fellowship in plastic surgery with Dr. Nicholas Nikolov in Beverly Hills and also a dermatology fellowship with Dr. Zein Obagi.
In 2004, he went back to Germany and resumed his private plastic surgery practice in Berlin, also working at prominent plastic surgery facilities like the Hygea Clinic, the Kant Beauty Clinic, and the Wedding Outpatient Surgery Center.
In 2007, Dr. Rubin became affiliated with the Lancet Clinic in Moscow, Russia, joining the Department of Plastic Surgery at II Moscow Medical University, as well as the Moscow Clinic of Plastic Surgery and Cosmetology (IPSC) and the Department of Plastic Surgery and Mammology at Hospital No. 1 of the Presidential Affairs Department.
In 2014, Dr. Rubin expanded his practice to the United Kingdom and opened his office in London along with the Regency Institute of Aesthetics and Welbeck Hospital.
In 2022, Alex Rubin established his inaugural plastic surgery location in the East, specifically in Dubai, UAE, at the American Plastic Surgery Clinic, where he serves as Medical Director.
In 2022, Dr. Rubin started working with Valiant Clinic and Dubai London Hospital, and from 2024 onward, he has been collaborating with Quttainah Specialty Hospital as a consultant plastic surgeon.

However, Dr. Rubin will be happy to provide you with real photos of patients before and after their surgeries during a personal consultation.
Since Dr. Rubin has a valid license in the European Union, including Germany, he is required to comply with legal regulations and is not allowed to publish before-and-after photos of his patients.
In Germany, the use of "before and after" images of patients is explicitly prohibited by the Health Advertising Act (Heilmittelwerbegesetz, HWG). According to § 11 Abs. 1 Nr. 5b HWG, advertising that shows changes in the human body as a result of medical procedures, the use of medicines, or medical devices is not allowed.
Additionally, this rule is enshrined in § 27 of the Medical Professional Code (Musterberufsordnung, MBO-Ä), which allows only objective and medically relevant information, excluding emotional impact on patients.
